Regarding the titles and the randomness of application:

Each image is subtitled I Have the Capacity for ______ (examples: Harm, Empathy…). These 52 capacities describe a range of benign and evil behavior. They are meant to be randomly assigned and to be used interchangeably, from one drawing to the next, with the intention of conveying the notion that I am and we all are capable of all of this - good and bad. Having the capacity to kill does not make me a killer, any more than having the capacity for kindness would make me a kind person. Capacities form and reform. If the subtitle read, I Am a Killer, that would imply immutable behavior, a fact. A capacity implies what is possible. On a given day, in a specific context, this particular guy has the capacity to kill. For example, he kills every day, as we all do, in order to eat, but I can also imagine anyone killing another human in order to protect oneself or someone else, or in a wartime scenario. This guy also has the capacity for kindness, and for decorum, and on, and on.
